Chalfant Run is situated in the eastern part of Allegheny County. The study was conducted in the 1970s to:
1. Determine the extent and severity of acid mine drainage in Chalfant Run and its tributaries.
2. Locate pollution sources.
3. Evaluate types of corrective measures and estimate associated construction costs.
A study conducted in the Summer of 2022, the author Andrew Clark uses Story Map in arcgis to weave together a story of the two rivers: Chalfant Run and Thompson Run
